Frequently Asked Questions about Travel Planning & Travel Advisors
-
I ask. A lot of questions. When, where, who's traveling, what experience you're after, what stresses you out, what makes you happiest. Then I put all of that together to design something that feels completely tailored to you.
-
Ideally, 3-6 months ahead. That gives me time to secure reservations and build in options. But I can work with tighter timelines—just let me know in your inquiry. Trips departing in less than 60 days may have limited availability or additional fees.
-
I have relationships with luxury hotels, tour operators, and destination partners who reward advisors for bringing them clients. Those perks come directly to you—room upgrades, complimentary breakfast, resort credits, exclusive experiences. And no, you don't pay me extra for them. The hotel pays me a commission; you get the benefit.
-
Almost never. The rates I access are typically the same or better than what you'd find online. My commission comes from the hotel, not from you. What you gain is perks you wouldn't get booking alone, plus my expertise handling the details.
-
Possibly. Send me your booking confirmation and I'll reach out to the hotel to see if they'll take over the reservation. If they will, you'll get Gilded perks added at no extra cost. No harm in asking.
-
Tell me your timeline in the inquiry form. I can absolutely work fast if I need to. You may have fewer options or things could be pricier based on availability, but I'll make it happen.

FORA is a network of travel advisors with access to industry partnerships, vendor relationships, and a community of advisors constantly sharing destination expertise. I'm an independent affiliate of FORA, which means I benefit from those resources and relationships to serve my clients better.

Whether you're researching for hours, reading conflicting reviews, or trying to score impossible-to-find reservations, travel planning takes mental energy that could go toward anticipating your trip. A travel advisor handles that so you can focus on what matters—dreaming about where you're going and who you're going with.
-
I work with anyone planning a trip that matters—honeymoons, milestone anniversaries, destination weddings, girls' trips, family vacations, group celebrations. You want the experience to feel special and stress-free. That's who I'm for.
-
I've been to 53 countries across six continents, so I have on-the-ground knowledge of many destinations. But more importantly, I specialize in you—understanding what kind of trip you want and getting you there without the stress. Whether it's your first time abroad or your tenth trip to Europe, I know how to make it work.
-
You can absolutely keep researching if you want. But I bring insider knowledge that doesn't live on the internet—which neighborhood in Rome actually feels right, which restaurants are worth the wait, what time of year works best for your specific travel style. I also handle the logistics you probably don't want to do: coordinating with hotels, securing perks, managing transfers, building in flexibility if something changes.
-
I don't just book hotels and send you an itinerary. I get to know you—what matters, what stresses you out about travel, what you need to feel taken care of. I'm with you from the moment you start dreaming about a trip to the moment you're walking through airport security. And if something goes wrong while you're traveling, I fix it. Not a 1-800 number. Me.
-
Short trips absolutely. A long weekend, a quick destination wedding, a night away—I can help with all of it. The planning is just tailored to what you need.
